In December 2001, a magazine called Food & Wine did a special taste test. They tried 18 different brands of minestrone soup without knowing which was which. The minestrone from The Gus Sclafani Corporation was chosen as a favorite.
In October 2010, the tomatoes from The Gus Sclafani Corporation were also recognized. Food & Wine magazine picked them as a "Chef Pick." This meant chefs thought they were essential for Italian cooking.
