Scooby-Doo! Music of the Vampire is a fun animated musical movie from 2012. It's the 17th film in the Scooby-Doo series that went straight to DVD. This movie is special because it's the very first Scooby-Doo film that is a musical! It came out on DVD and Blu-ray on March 13, 2012, and first showed on Cartoon Network on March 3, 2012.

The Mystery Begins

The movie starts with a song by Tulie, a person who lives in the swampy bayou. He tells the story of Valdronya, a vampire, and the Mystery Inc. gang. After solving a mystery about a Cockroach Monster, Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby decide to take a break.

Velma drives them to Petit Chauve Sourie Ville. This is a small town in Louisiana that is holding a "Vampire Palooza" festival. They meet Lita Rutland, who organizes the festival. She explains that not many tourists are coming, and the festival is losing money.

They also meet their host, Vincent Van Helsing. He is a descendant of the famous vampire hunter Abraham Van Helsing. Vincent runs a vampire museum and writes books, but his books are not selling well. Jesper Poubelle, who wants to be mayor, is also causing trouble. He protests against the festival because he doesn't like vampires.

Mr. Van Helsing takes the gang to his museum. He shows them an old book about vampires. He also has a special necklace and a fancy crown, which he says belonged to a vampire bride. Inside a glass box, there is a body of Valdronya, a vampire said to be hundreds of years old.

The Vampire Appears

The gang and Van Helsing go to watch a show by a group of actors. These actors really love the vampire lifestyle and only perform at night. Bram, the leader of the group, who Daphne finds interesting, announces they will do a vampire resurrection ritual.

The actors have someone ready backstage to appear. But to everyone's surprise, their magic words work too well! The real Valdronya appears on stage and then flies away.

Back at the museum, the gang finds that the bridal jewelry is gone. Valdronya's body is also missing, even though his tomb is still sealed. Out at the festival, Lita Rutland wants to use the vampire's appearance to get more attention for the festival. She tells a fake story about being attacked, which gets on the news.

Mayor Poubelle also gets attention for his anti-vampire protests. The gang checks out his group's trailer. They find out he plans to run for mayor and is using the vampire story to become more famous. On their way back, Valdronya attacks them. He climbs onto the Mystery Machine and tries to get in. Daphne rips off a piece of his sleeve. Velma makes him fall off the car by driving through a very low tunnel.

Clues and Kidnapping

That night, Shaggy and Scooby are attacked by Valdronya. They are chased into the swamp. Shaggy thinks he has been bitten and will turn into a vampire! There, they meet Tulie. Tulie tells them he invented special hover shoes. But the plans for them were stolen by vampires, and he had to hide in the swamp.

Meanwhile, Fred, Daphne, and Velma discover that the fabric from Valdronya's costume is modern material. Van Helsing says the clothing has been changed over the years because the old material fell apart. He insists the body is still the real vampire. He shows them what is left of Valdronya's original clothes. Daphne realizes that no fabric like that has been made for hundreds of years.

Daphne decides to ask the actors some questions. She meets with Bram. When she turns down his offers to be with him, even with a promise of living forever, he kidnaps her! He wants her to become the bride of Valdronya.

Solving the Mystery

Daphne sends a text message to Fred. Fred, Velma, and Van Helsing go into the swamp to stop the wedding. On their way, Van Helsing is pulled from the boat and disappears. When Fred and Velma look for him, they find Shaggy and Scooby instead. Velma shows Shaggy that he is not turning into a vampire; it was just a splinter on his neck, not a bite.

The actors tie Daphne's hands between two trees. They put the crown and necklace on her. They tell her they expect to live forever if they give her to Valdronya as his bride. The monster appears to claim his bride. With a swirl of green mist, he makes the actors fall asleep. He tells them they will be immortal when they wake up. Daphne also falls into a trance and agrees to the wedding.

Valdronya arrives, but Shaggy and Scooby distract him. Velma quickly unties Daphne. During the chase, Valdronya's costume is blown away by Scooby and Shaggy's airboat propeller. It shows modern clothes and Tulie's hover boots underneath! Fred then captures the vampire.

Valdronya is unmasked and turns out to be Van Helsing! He wanted to create a fake vampire wedding to make his own new tourist attraction. He also wanted to sell more of his books. He used the stolen hover boots, a special gas to make people sleep, and holographic projections to create the monster effects. The hands that dragged him away were just a machine he had set up earlier. He made up the fake story about the vampire's old clothing when he thought the gang was getting close to figuring him out. The actors were tricked into thinking he was a real vampire who could make them live forever, so they helped him.

The sheriff arrests Van Helsing and the actors. Bram says sorry to Daphne. She is strangely happy that he chose her to be the vampire's bride. But when he asks her out on a date after he gets out of prison, she says no because she never dates actors. The gang then leaves for another vacation, hoping not to find any more monsters or mysteries.
