Scotland hosted the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow from July 23 to August 3, 2014. As the host nation, Scotland sent a large team of 310 athletes to compete. This team included 168 men and 142 women, who took part in 17 different sports. It was a very exciting time for Scottish sports!

Scotland's Amazing Medals
Scotland had a fantastic performance at their home games, winning a total of 53 medals! This included 19 gold medals, 15 silver medals, and 19 bronze medals. They finished in 4th place overall, which was a brilliant achievement.
Who Won Gold for Scotland?
Scotland's athletes won gold in many different sports:
- Judo: Kimberley Renicks (Women's 48 kg), Louise Renicks (Women's 52 kg), Sarah Clark (Women's 63 kg), Euan Burton (Men's -100 kg), Christopher Sherrington (Men's +100 kg), Sarah Adlington (Women's +78 kg). Judo was a very strong sport for Scotland!
- Swimming: Hannah Miley (Women's 400 metre individual medley), Ross Murdoch (Men's 200 metre breaststroke), Daniel Wallace (Men's 400 metre individual medley).
- Cycling: Neil Fachie and his pilot Craig MacLean won two gold medals in Men's tandem 1km time trial B and Men's tandem sprint B.
- Lawn Bowls: Paul Foster and Alex Marshall won gold in Men's pairs. The Men's fours team (Paul Foster, Alex Marshall, David Peacock, Neil Speirs) also won gold. Darren Burnett won gold in Men's singles.
- Athletics: Libby Clegg, with her guide Mikhail Huggins, won gold in Women's 100 metres (T12).
- Gymnastics: Daniel Keatings won gold in Men's pommel horse, and Daniel Purvis won gold in Men's parallel bars.
- Boxing: Charlie Flynn won gold in Men's lightweight, and Josh Taylor won gold in Men's light welterweight.
Silver Medal Winners
Scottish athletes also earned 15 silver medals:
- Cycling: Aileen McGlynn and her pilot Louise Haston won two silver medals in Women's tandem sprint B and Women's tandem 1km time trial B.
- Judo: Stephanie Inglis (Women's 57 kg), Matthew Purssey (Men's 90 kg).
- Swimming: Michael Jamieson (Men's 200 metre breaststroke), Daniel Wallace (Men's 200 metre individual medley), and the Men's 4 × 200 metre freestyle relay team (Daniel Wallace, Stephen Milne, Duncan Scott, Robbie Renwick).
- Lawn Bowls: Robert Conway and Irene Edgar, with their guides Ron McArthur and David Thomas, won silver in Mixed para-sport pairs.
- Shooting: Drew Christie (Men's skeet), Jennifer McIntosh (Women's 50 metre rifle three positions).
- Gymnastics: The Men's artistic team all-around (Frank Baines, Adam Cox, Liam Davie, Daniel Keatings, Daniel Purvis) won silver. Daniel Keatings also won silver in Men's artistic individual all-around.
- Athletics: Eilidh Child (Women's 400 metres hurdles), Lynsey Sharp (Women's 800 metres).
