As a young player, Scott Dureau started his junior rugby league with the Port Macquarie Sharks. In the early 2000s, the Newcastle Knights signed him. He played in their younger teams and won several awards.

Scott made his first big game appearance in 2007. This was against the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles. In July 2010, the Knights coach told Scott it would be good for him to find a new team. This was because the team had signed new players in his position.

Playing for the Catalans Dragons

Scott Dureau then signed with the Catalans Dragons for the 2011 season. This team plays in the Super League in Europe. He quickly became their main halfback.

Scott played for the Dragons for three years. He had a lot of success both personally and with his team. He was chosen for the Super League Dream Team in both 2011 and 2012. In 2012, he also won the Albert Goldthorpe Medal, a special award for players.

Scott missed many games in 2013 and 2014. He needed surgery to remove a harmless growth behind his eye.

Short Time with the Sydney Roosters

On June 30, 2014, Scott Dureau joined the Sydney Roosters. He was on loan from the Catalans Dragons for a short time. However, he did not play any games for the Roosters in the NRL.

Returning to the Catalans Dragons

In 2015, Scott Dureau went back to play for the Catalans Dragons in the Super League. He finished his time with the club at the end of the 2015 season. After this, he decided to stop playing professional rugby league.

Coaching Career

After he stopped playing, Scott Dureau became a coach. He took on a coaching role with his old team, the Newcastle Knights.
