Professional Playing Career
Playing for the Newcastle Knights
As a young player, Scott Dureau started his junior rugby league career with the Port Macquarie Sharks. In the early 2000s, the Newcastle Knights signed him. He played in their lower-level teams and won several awards.
Scott made his first professional appearance for the Knights in 2007. This was against the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles at Bluetongue Stadium. In July 2010, the Knights' coach, Rick Stone, suggested that Scott look for a new club. This was because the team had signed new players and had many halfbacks already.
Playing for the Catalans Dragons
Scott Dureau then signed with the Catalans Dragons for the 2011 season. This team is based in France and plays in the Super League. He quickly became the team's main halfback.
Scott played for the Catalans Dragons for three years and had great success. He was chosen for the Super League Dream Team in both 2011 and 2012. In 2012, he also received the Albert Goldthorpe Medal, which is a special award for top players.
Scott missed a lot of games in the 2013 and 2014 seasons. This was because he needed surgery to remove a harmless growth behind his eye.
Short Time with the Sydney Roosters
On June 30, 2014, Scott Dureau joined the Sydney Roosters on a temporary loan from the Catalans Dragons. However, he did not play any games for the Roosters in the NRL.
