Seán Purcell (born December 17, 1928 – died August 27, 2005) was a famous Gaelic football player from Ireland. He played for the Galway county team at the highest level. Many people remember him as one of the greatest Gaelic footballers ever.

School Football Success
While at St Jarlath's College, Seán was a key player on the school's football team. In 1947, his team won the Hogan Cup. This is a very important competition for schools in Gaelic football.
