Seama is a small community in Cibola County, New Mexico, United States. It is called a census-designated place (CDP) because it's a special area defined for gathering population data. In 2020, about 478 people lived there.

Seama's Location and Surroundings

Seama is found in the northeastern part of Cibola County. It sits on the western edge of the lands belonging to the Laguna Pueblo people.

To the west of Seama, you'll find North Acomita Village and South Acomita Village. These villages are part of the Acoma Pueblo lands. To the north is Cubero, and to the east is Paraje.

Rivers and Roads

Seama is located in the valley of the Rio San Jose. This river flows east and is a branch of the Rio Puerco. A major highway, Interstate 40, goes right through Seama. You can get on or off the highway at Exit 104.

From Seama, it's about 23 miles (37 km) west to Grants. Grants is the main town and county seat of Cibola County. If you travel east, you'll reach Albuquerque, which is about 56 miles (90 km) away.
