Sebastian Roché (born on August 4, 1964) is a French-American actor. He is famous for playing many different characters in popular TV shows and movies. You might know him as Kurt Mendel from Odyssey 5, Balthazar from Supernatural, or Mikael from The Vampire Diaries and The Originals. He also played Thomas Jerome Newton in Fringe.
Sebastian Roché has also appeared in many films, including The Last of the Mohicans (1992) and Safe House (2012). He has also performed in plays on Broadway, like Salome and The Green Bird.

Sebastian Roché was born in Paris, France. His mother was Scottish, and his father was French. From the age of 12 to 18, Sebastian had a very unique childhood. He lived on a sailboat with his parents and brothers! They traveled to many places, including the Mediterranean Sea, Africa, South America, and the Caribbean. This amazing experience helped him learn to speak five languages fluently: French, English, German, Spanish, and Italian.
Sebastian went to school in France and later studied acting at famous drama schools in Paris. He graduated from the French National Academy of Dramatic Arts in 1989. In 1992, he moved to New York City to continue his acting career.

Sebastian Roché started his acting journey in 1986 with a TV movie called The Murders in the Rue Morgue. After that, he acted in several French TV shows and movies in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
He also has a strong background in theatre. He performed in classic plays like Salome with Al Pacino and Macbeth. In 1992, he appeared in the historical movie The Last of the Mohicans. He also had roles in American TV shows like Loving and Law & Order.

Sebastian Roché met actress Vera Farmiga when they were working together on the TV series Roar. They got married in 1998 and later separated in 2004.
On May 31, 2014, Sebastian married Korean Australian actress Alicia Hannah-Kim in France. Sebastian Roché is also an American citizen.
