Ryan Rodney Reynolds (born October 23, 1976) is a Canadian and American actor, producer, and businessman. He is famous for his roles in funny movies and superhero films. In 2020 and 2024, he was one of the highest-paid actors in the world. His movies have earned over $6.5 billion worldwide. Ryan Reynolds has won many awards, including a Primetime Emmy Award. He has also been nominated for two Grammy Awards and a Golden Globe Award.

Ryan Rodney Reynolds was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, on October 23, 1976. His father, James Chester Reynolds, was a Royal Canadian Policeman and later a food wholesaler. His mother, Tamara Lee, worked in retail sales. Ryan has three older brothers. He has said his brothers protected him from their father. Ryan's grandfather, Chester, was a farmer and a politician in Alberta from 1940 to 1944. Ryan is of Irish background and grew up in Vancouver and Vanier, Ontario.

Ryan Reynolds met singer Alanis Morissette in 2002. They were engaged in 2004 but ended their engagement in 2007. Ryan then started dating actress Scarlett Johansson in April 2007. They got engaged in May 2008 and married in September 2008. They announced their separation in December 2010 and their divorce was final in July 2011.
Ryan first met Blake Lively in July 2010 while filming Green Lantern (2011). They started dating in October 2011 and married on September 9, 2012. They have four children together: three daughters and a son. The family lives in Pound Ridge, New York. Ryan and Blake are good friends with singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift named characters in her 2020 song "Betty" after their daughters. In November 2024, Ryan confirmed that Taylor Swift is the godmother to his three daughters. He is also close friends with Hugh Jackman.
Ryan's father passed away in 2015. Ryan has said that playing Deadpool helped him deal with his grief.
