Seema Bhatnagar is an Indian scientist who works on finding new medicines. She is especially known for her work in anticancer drug discovery. She uses special chemistry methods to create drugs that can target and fight breast cancer.

Education and Early Studies
Seema Bhatnagar studied science at Isabella Thoburn College in Lucknow. She earned her Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Chemistry, Biology, and Zoology in 1992. After that, she completed her Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Organic Chemistry in 1994.
She then continued her studies at the Central Drug Research Institute in Lucknow. There, she earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry in 1999. Her doctoral advisor was Amiya Prasad Bhaduri.
Career in Science
Professor Bhatnagar has spent her career researching and developing new medicines. She has worked with different government and private organizations. In 2005, she joined Amity University, Noida as a lecturer. She is now an Assistant Director at the Amity Institute of Biotechnology.
Before joining Amity University, she worked on various projects. She was a Project Associate at the National Institute of Immunology in India. She also worked at Ranbaxy Laboratories on a project about organic synthesis.
Current Research and Collaborations
At Amity University, Professor Bhatnagar leads important research projects. She is currently working on a project sponsored by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). She also works with other scientists from different institutes. These include the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology. She also collaborates with the Drug Discovery Unit at the University of Dundee.
Professor Bhatnagar has created many new ideas and findings in her research. She has several patents and has published many scientific papers.

- In 2014, she attended an advanced course on finding new medicines from small molecules. This course was organized by the Wellcome Trust in Cambridge, UK.

- In 2023, she was named a Fellow of The Indian Society of Agricultural Biochemists. This is a special honor given to experts in the field.
- She was recognized as one of the World's Top 2% Most Influential Scientists in 2023 by Stanford University.
- She received a Senior Research Fellowship from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research in New Delhi.
Personal Life
Seema Bhatnagar was born in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. Her father, Ram Chandra Srivastava, was an Associate Director at the Defence Research and Development Organisation. Her mother is Meera Srivastava.
Seema is married to an IT Consultant. They have two children, a son and a daughter.
