Seiya Fujita's Football Journey

Starting Out at Consadole Sapporo

Seiya Fujita began his football career at a young age. He joined the youth academy of Consadole Sapporo when he was 15 years old. In 2005, he was part of the Consadole youth team that made it to the final of the Prince Takamado Cup. Although they lost the final match to Tokyo Verdy, it was a great achievement.

Fujita became a professional player in December 2005. He played his first game for the senior team on December 3, 2005. This match was in the J2 League against Thespa Kusatsu.

Moving to New Teams

After playing for Consadole Sapporo for several years, Fujita moved to Albirex Niigata. He signed with them on December 23, 2010. His first game for Albirex Niigata was on March 5, 2011, against Avispa Fukuoka.

Later, in 2014, he joined Shonan Bellmare. He first played for them on loan, which means he was temporarily playing for them while still belonging to his original club. After his loan period, he joined Shonan Bellmare permanently.

His last club was Tokushima Vortis. He played for them from 2019 until 2022.

Retirement and New Role

On January 7, 2023, Seiya Fujita announced that he was retiring from playing professional football. After his retirement, he decided to stay involved in the sport. He became a staff member at the youth academy of Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo. This means he now helps train and guide young football players, just like he was once guided.

Playing for Japan's National Team

Representing Japan U-20

Seiya Fujita also had the honor of playing for his country. In July 2007, he was chosen to be part of the Japan U-20 national team. This team competed in the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada.

During this important tournament, Fujita played in all four matches for Japan. He played as a right midfielder, helping his team compete against other countries' best young players. Japan reached the Round of 16 in the tournament.
