Joining the Denver Broncos
Selvin Young was not chosen in the 2007 NFL Draft. However, the Denver Broncos signed him as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2007. He played very well in the team's practice games. Because of his strong play, head coach Mike Shanahan named him the team's second-string running back. He played behind the starter, Travis Henry.
Young got his first chance to start a game when Henry was injured. He played against the Green Bay Packers. In that game, he gained 120 total yards. He also helped the team by returning kick-offs.
First 100-Yard Game
On November 11, 2007, Young had his first game where he rushed for over 100 yards. He also scored his first professional touchdown. This happened in a game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
