Station History

Sengkang Station has grown quite a bit over the years. Here's how it all happened:

  • On 18 January 2003, the station first opened its doors. It was part of the East Loop of the Sengkang LRT Line.
  • A few months later, on 20 June 2003, the North East Line started running. This made Sengkang an interchange station.
  • On 29 January 2005, the West Loop of the Sengkang LRT Line also opened. At first, trains only went one way on this loop.
  • Finally, on 1 January 2013, the Sengkang LRT Line West Loop became fully bidirectional. This means trains could travel both ways all day long, making it easier for everyone!
