Senida Mesi's Early Life and Education
Senida Mesi was born in Shkodër, a city in Albania, on December 16, 1977. She studied business administration at the University of Tirana, graduating in 2000. Later, in 2013, she became a certified accountant. Before becoming a politician, Senida Mesi taught at the University of Shkodër "Luigj Gurakuqi". She continued teaching there until she was chosen to join the Parliament in 2017.
Senida Mesi's Political Journey
Senida Mesi started her political career in 2015. She was elected as a member of the city council for Shkodër. This was her first step into public service.
Becoming a Member of Parliament
In 2017, Senida Mesi decided to run for a seat in the Albanian Parliament. She joined the Socialist Party of Albania for the parliamentary elections. On June 25, 2017, the people of Shkodër elected her to represent them in the Parliament of Albania.
Serving as Deputy Prime Minister
Just a few months after becoming a Member of Parliament, Senida Mesi received a big promotion. In August 2017, the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, announced that she would become the next Deputy Prime Minister. She served in this high-ranking position from September 13, 2017, until January 17, 2019.
