Sergey Mikhailovich Nikolsky (Russian: Серге́й Миха́йлович Нико́льский; 30 April 1905 – 9 November 2012) was a very important Russian mathematician. He lived a long life and made many big discoveries in math. He was known for his work on how numbers and shapes behave.

A Long Life in Math
Sergey Nikolsky was born in a place called Talitsa in Russia. He became a top expert in math, known as an Academician, in 1972. He won many important science awards during his career.
Teaching and Learning
Even when he was 92 years old, Nikolsky was still actively teaching. He gave lectures at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT). When he turned 100, he was still working at MIPT. He also gave talks at science conferences.
His Final Years
Sergey Nikolsky passed away in Moscow in November 2012. He was 107 years old when he died. He left behind a great legacy in the world of mathematics.
