Sergio Dalma's Music Journey

Sergio Dalma began his singing career in bands and choral groups. He became well-known after winning a TV show called "Gent d'aqui" in Catalonia. This win helped him get a regular singing job at the Shadows night-club in Barcelona. Soon after, he signed a contract with the Horus record company.

Early Success and First Albums

In 1989, Sergio Dalma released his first album, Esa Chica es Mía. The main song from the album, also called "Esa Chica es Mía," was his first single. This pop-rock song became very popular in many Spanish-speaking countries. It reached the music charts in Spain, Mexico, Chile, and Argentina. By 1990, the album was certified Platinum in Spain and other countries. This means it sold a lot of copies!

Eurovision and International Fame

His next album, Sintiéndonos la Piel, came out in 1991. In the same year, Sergio Dalma was chosen to represent Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest 1991. He sang the song "Bailar pegados" in Rome. He finished in fourth place, which was a great achievement. This song also helped him become famous in the United States, especially among Hispanic audiences. It reached number 6 on the U.S. Hot Latin Tracks chart. Another song from the album, "Como Me Gusta," also became a Top 10 hit.

More Hit Albums and Songs

The year after Eurovision, he released Adivina. This album went straight to number 1 in Spain. It included the popular song "Ave Lucía." Sergio Dalma later recorded music for other big companies like Polygram and Universal. Many of his songs became hits, such as "Galilea" (1991), "Solo Para Ti" (1994), and "El Mundo" (2011).

His 2010 album, Via Dalma, was one of his biggest successes. It stayed at number 1 in Spain for 10 weeks and sold enough copies to be certified six-times platinum. His next album, Via Dalma II (2011), also reached number 1 and was certified four-times platinum. To celebrate this, Dalma hosted a TV special where he sang with other famous artists like Laura Pausini and Pablo Alborán.

In 2013, his album Cadore 33 also topped the charts in Spain. This made it his fifth album in a row to reach number 1. It featured two popular songs: "Si Te Vas" and "Recuerdo Crónico."

Celebrating 25 Years in Music

On September 20, 2014, Sergio Dalma celebrated 25 years of his music career. He held a special concert in Madrid. The show was recorded for a CD and DVD called Yo Estuve Allí, which came out in November 2014. This album reached number 4 on the Spanish charts. At the same time, his album Cadore 33 was also in the Top 10, meaning he had two albums on the chart at once!

In 2015, he released the single "Tú y Yo," which reached number 14 in Spain. This was followed by his album Dalma [es], which debuted at number 2.

His album Via Dalma III, released in 2017, was a collection of Italian songs sung in Spanish. It reached number 1 in Spain and stayed on the national chart for 58 weeks!

In 2019, Sergio Dalma signed with Sony Music Spain, a new record company. Throughout his career, he has sung in Spanish, but also in Catalan, Italian, English, and French.
