Sergio Escudero (born February 10, 1964) is a former Argentine football player. He played as a midfielder. Football is a big part of his family! His brother, Osvaldo Escudero, and his son, also named Sergio Escudero, are also professional footballers.
Sergio's Football Journey
Sergio Escudero played for several football clubs during his career. In Argentina, he played for teams like Vélez Sarsfield, Chacarita Juniors, and Atlanta.
He also played in Spain for Granada. Later, in 1992, Sergio moved to Japan to play for Urawa Reds. His brother, Osvaldo, also played for Urawa Reds at the same time. Sergio retired from playing football at the end of the 1992 season.
A Family of Footballers
Sergio's family has many football players! His son, also named Sergio Escudero, followed in his father's footsteps. He also played for Urawa Reds and now plays for Tochigi SC. Sergio's son even played for Japan's Under-23 national team.
In June 2007, Sergio and his son became citizens of Japan. This means they have dual citizenship, being both Argentine and Japanese. Sergio's nephew, Damián Escudero, who is Osvaldo's son, is also a professional footballer.
