Communities in Sevastopol
Sevastopol is home to several small communities. These are places where people live, but they don't have their own separate local government.
Institute Community
- Institute is a small community found along WIS 57. It's where the town hall is located today. The community got its name from a Roman Catholic boarding school that used to be there a long time ago.
Little Harbor Community
- Little Harbor is another small community. It is located along County Road B, right by a harbor that shares its name.
Valmy Community
- Valmy is a community mostly around the crossing of WIS 57 and County Road T. It's like a starting point for visiting two cool parks nearby: Whitefish Dunes State Park and Cave Point County Park.
Whitefish Bay Community
- Whitefish Bay is a community located where County Road T meets Whitefish Bay Road.

Special Plant Collections
Sevastopol is home to some very important plant collections at the Peninsular Research Station.
Potato Powerhouse
The U.S. Potato Genebank at the Peninsular Research Station is a special place. It holds the world's second-largest collection of wild potatoes! In 2010, it had 65 different kinds of wild potato species.
Overall, the Genebank had 5,277 different plant collections in 2010. This was the fifth-highest number of collections anywhere in the world. They send out thousands of plant samples each year to scientists and businesses, both in the U.S. and other countries, to help with research. Besides potatoes, they also grow grapes, fruit trees, and other farm crops.
Beautiful Gardens
There's also a one-acre botanical garden on the research station grounds. It's run by a group of expert gardeners called "master gardeners." This garden has about 350 different kinds of plants for everyone to enjoy and learn about.
