Kazi Sharmin Nahid Nupur, known to many as Shabnur, is a famous actress from Bangladesh. She was born on December 17. Shabnur won a big award, the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress, for her role in the movie Dui Noyoner Alo in 2005.

About Shabnur
Shabnur was born on December 17, 1979, in a place called Nabharan, in Jashore, Bangladesh. Her father's name is Shahjahan Chowdhury. She grew up with her sister, Jhumur, and her brother, Tamal.
Her Acting Journey
Shabnur started her acting career in 1993. Her very first movie was Chandni Raatey, where she acted alongside Shabbir. The movie was directed by Ehtesham.
Her first big hit movie was Hridoy Amar, where she starred with Amin Khan. But she became really famous with her third movie, Tumi Amar, in 1994. In this film, she acted with the popular actor Salman Shah.
Shabnur and Salman Shah acted together in many movies until 1996. After that, she worked with other well-known actors like Omar Sunny, Riaz, Ferdous Ahmed, and Shakib Khan.
After taking a break from acting, Shabnur had two movies released in 2012: Bhalobasha Saint Martin-e and Attogopon. In 2013, she appeared in Kichhu Asha Kicchu Bhalobasha.
Shabnur is planning to return to acting in 2024. She will be in two new movies: Rangana, a thriller directed by Arafat Hossain, and Matal Hawa, directed by Chayanika Chowdhury.
Her Life Outside Movies
Shabnur married a businessman named Anik Mahmud in 2012. They later divorced in 2020. They have one son together.
In 2011, Shabnur started a school called Sydney International School in Baridhara, Dhaka. She now lives in Sydney, Australia, and has been an Australian citizen since 2012.
Awards and Recognitions
Shabnur has won several awards for her acting:
- In 2004, she won the Bachsas Award for Best Actress for her role in the film Bou Shashurir Juddho .
- She won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress in 2006 for her performance in Dui Noyoner Alo (2005).
- She has also won the Meril Prothom Alo Awards for Best Actress ten times, which is a great achievement!
- In 2011, she received the CJFB Performance Award for Best Actress for her 2010 film Ebhabei Bhalobasha Hoy.
