Shakib Khan is a very famous actor, producer, and businessman from Bangladesh. He was born as Masud Rana on March 28, 1979. He is known as one of the most popular and important people in Bengali cinema.

Shakib Khan has been acting for over twenty years and has appeared in more than 250 films. He is a big star in the Bangladeshi film industry, often called "Dhallywood." He is also one of the highest-paid actors in Bangladesh and West Bengal. His first movie was Ananta Bhalobasha in 1999.

Shakib Khan's Early Life

Shakib Khan was born on March 28, 1979, in Ragadhi, Muksudpur, Gopalganj, Bangladesh. His birth name was Masud Rana. His father, Abdur Rab, worked for the government, and his mother, Nurjahan, was a homemaker. He has one sister and one brother.

Because of his father's job, Shakib Khan's family moved often. He spent his teenage years in Narayanganj. During ninth grade, he became interested in Martial arts and took a course. As a child, he dreamed of becoming a doctor or an engineer.

Shakib Khan was a good student. He did well in his Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) exams. However, he stopped studying when he got the chance to act in movies. Besides school, he also loved dancing.

In 1995, he met film choreographer Aziz Reza and took dancing lessons from him. In 1998, he visited Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) with Aziz Reza. There, a photographer asked him to do a photoshoot. Film director Abul Khair Bulbul saw him and offered him a main role in a movie.

Later, he got an offer for the 1998 romantic movie Sobai to Shukhi Hote Chay. This was his first time in front of a camera. The movie was released the next year. Director Sohanur Rahman Sohan then gave him a lead role in Ananta Bhalobasha (1999). This movie became his official debut. For these early films, he was paid about 5,000 Bangladeshi Taka.

Shakib Khan's Acting Career

Shakib Khan's first movie was Ananta Bhalobasha, released on May 28, 1999. He starred alongside Erin Zaman. Even though the movie was not a huge success, Shakib Khan caught everyone's attention as a new hero.

Early Films (1999–2005)

In 2000, he appeared in Golam with top actress Shabnur. He also starred in Ajker Dapot, Dujon Dujonar, and Bishe Bhora Nagin.

In 2001, he released several films, including Shikari and Shopner Bashor. His acting in Shopner Bashor was praised by critics and audiences. In 2002, he starred in Ful Nebo Naa Ostro Nebo and Strir Morjada. In Strir Morjada, he acted for the first time with Moushumi.

In 2003, he was in Sahoshi Manush Chai, which won two National Film Awards. In 2004, he starred in Khuni Shikder, a crime thriller. Many people consider this one of his best performances. In 2005, he worked with veteran actor Manna for the first time in City Terror.

Shakib Khan filed for divorce on November 22, 2017, and they were divorced on February 22, 2018.
