Sadika Parvin Popy (born on September 10, 1979), known to everyone as Popy, is a famous actress from Bangladesh. She has won the top acting award in Bangladesh, the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress, three times! She won these awards for her amazing work in the films Karagar (2003), Megher Koley Roud (2008), and Gangajatra (2009).

Early Life and Beginnings

Popy grew up in Khulna, a city in Bangladesh. She went to the National Girls' School there. Even from a young age, she was interested in performing.

Popy's Acting Journey

Popy started her acting career in movies in 1997. Her very first film was Coolie, directed by Montazur Rahman Akbar. Before that, she had actually filmed another movie called Amar Ghor Amar Behesht, but Coolie was released first.

She also acted alongside another popular actor, Shakib Khan, in his second movie, Dujon Dujonar, in 1999. Popy became a very busy actress, starring in over 250 films as the main character during her most active years!

Besides movies, Popy has also acted in television shows. Her first TV drama was called Nayak. More recently, she has appeared in web series, which are shows made for online viewing. Some of these include Garden and Indubala.
