Shahira Fahmy (born 1974) is a famous Egyptian architect. She started her own company, Shahira Fahmy Architects (SFA), in 2005 in Cairo, Egypt.

Shahira Fahmy has won many important awards for her work. She was given the Loeb Fellowship at the Harvard Graduate School of Design in 2015. She also received the Berkman fellowship from the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard Law School in 2016.

She has also taught architecture at Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture. In 2005, she won the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Young Architect Award. Her company has also won international design contests in Switzerland and London.

Early Life and Education

Shahira Fahmy was born in Egypt in 1974. She studied architecture at Cairo University. She earned her first degree in 1997. Later, she completed her master's degree in architecture from the same university in 2004.

Amazing Architectural Career

Shahira Fahmy taught at Cairo University from 1997 to 2007. She has worked with other famous architects on big projects. For example, she helped design the new campus for the American University in Cairo in 2005. She also worked on the Ahmed Bahaa El-Din Cultural Center in 2010.

Shahira Fahmy is a popular speaker at architecture events. She has given talks in Istanbul, London, and at universities like the American University in Beirut and Cairo.

In 2012, she won a design competition with the Delfina Foundation in London. This led to her working on the expansion of the Delfina Foundation headquarters. This building is located near Buckingham Palace and was finished in 2014. She also designed a modern building called Block 36 in Westown, Cairo.

Shahira Fahmy is a member of several important groups. She is on the board of the International Community of the Red Cross in Egypt. She also belongs to the Egyptian Engineering Syndicate.

She has shown her designs in many architectural exhibitions around the world. These include shows like the Atlas of The Unbuilt World and the Green Good Design Exhibition.

Acting Debut

Shahira Fahmy also tried acting! She appeared in a movie called Claire's Camera in 2017. She acted alongside famous stars like Isabelle Huppert. This movie was shown at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival.
