Playing for the West Coast Eagles (1994–1996)
Shane Bond started his AFL journey with the West Coast Eagles in 1994. He joined them after playing for Port Adelaide in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). During his time with the Eagles, Shane played 34 games. He also kicked 20 goals for the team. A big highlight was being part of the team that won the 1994 Premiership. This means his team won the championship that year!
Moving to Port Adelaide (1997–2000)
After his time with the Eagles, Shane Bond moved to the Port Adelaide Football Club in 1997. This was when Port Adelaide first joined the AFL. He played 57 games for them. During these games, he kicked 11 goals. One of his goals was the third goal ever scored by Port Adelaide in the AFL.
Playing in the WAFL
Time with East Perth
Before or during his AFL career, Shane also played in the Western Australian Football League (WAFL). He played 21 games for the East Perth Football Club. This was while he was also playing for the West Coast Eagles.
