Shane Bond's AFL Journey
The Australian Football League (AFL) is the biggest football competition in Australia. Shane Bond played for two different teams during his time in the AFL.
Playing for the West Coast Eagles
Shane started his AFL career with the West Coast Eagles in 1994. He was recruited from a team called Port Adelaide in the SANFL, which is another football league. In his first few years, Shane played 34 games for the Eagles and kicked 20 goals. A really big moment for him was being part of the team that won the 1994 Premiership. This means his team won the championship that year!
Moving to Port Adelaide
In 1997, Shane moved to the Port Adelaide Football Club. This was when Port Adelaide first joined the AFL. He played 57 games for them until 2000, scoring 11 goals. One of his goals was even the third goal ever scored by Port Adelaide in the AFL!
Playing in the WAFL
While playing for the West Coast Eagles, Shane also played in another league called the Western Australian Football League (WAFL). He played 21 games for the East Perth team.

Shane Bond is the younger brother of another AFL player, Troy Bond.
