Shaunna Elizabeth Hall (born July 28, 1963) is an American composer and musician from the San Francisco Bay Area. She plays the guitar and was a founding member of the band 4 Non Blondes. Today, she is a member of George Clinton's Parliament-Funkadelic.

Shaunna Hall's Early Life
Shaunna Hall played the trumpet in school. Her teacher was Jon Simms, who started the San Francisco Gay Freedom Day Marching Band. She began playing the guitar seriously as a teenager. She also studied songwriting at the Blue Bear School of Music.
Shaunna's Music Journey in the 1980s
In the early 1980s, Shaunna Hall joined her first band, The Crash Puppies. Later in the 1980s, she and bassist Christa Hillhouse formed a new wave duo called Cool and Unusual Punishment.
Shaunna then met singer Linda Perry. In 1989, Shaunna, Linda, Christa Hillhouse, and drummer Wanda Day started the alternative rock band 4 Non Blondes.
Shaunna Hall and 4 Non Blondes in the 1990s
In 1990, 4 Non Blondes won an award for Best Rock Band. Their only studio album, Bigger, Better, Faster, More!, came out in 1992. Shaunna played on the album and wrote five songs, including "Spaceman". The album became very popular, reaching number 11 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. "Spaceman" was released as a single in 1993.
Shaunna Hall left 4 Non Blondes in 1992. This happened during the recording of their album. She had different ideas about the music than the band and the producer.
After leaving 4 Non Blondes, Shaunna Hall started a new band called Bad Dog Play Dead in 1992. This band played funk, rock, country, and pop songs. Shaunna wrote many of these songs with Pat Wilder. The band also reunited Shaunna with Wanda Day, the drummer from 4 Non Blondes. They played live shows in San Francisco.
From 1993 to 1995, Shaunna played in a hard rock band called The ... of Fame. The band started to play a benefit concert for Wanda Day. They toured the East Coast in 1994.
In 1996, Shaunna Hall joined other artists for the Home Alive! Compilation album. This project raised money and awareness for self-defense education for women. It honored Mia Zapata, a singer who was murdered.
Shaunna also played with The Eric McFadden Experience throughout the 1990s. This group won an award for Best Americana Band in 1998. Their CD Our Revels Now are Ended included a song by Shaunna called "Macaroon."
Shaunna's Work in the 2000s
In 2000, Shaunna Hall helped create the first online video game by Shockwave. It was called Tamale Loco.
In 2001, Shaunna wrote eight songs for the album The Calm Years with a group called Storm, Inc. She also toured the US West Coast with them.
In July 2002, Shaunna Hall began touring with George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic. She has toured with them in the US, Canada, and Europe. She was the monitor engineer for a few years. In 2007, she became the first official female guitarist of P-Funk.
Shaunna Hall released a video called The Third Eye in 2004. This video was part of her multimedia project, Electrofunkadelica: e3+FUNKnth = music for the body, mind & soul.
In 2007, Shaunna appeared on a BBC TV show. It featured the 4 Non Blondes song "What's Up?" on a list of "Most Annoying Pop Songs."
Shaunna also helped with two music projects in 2008. She was an engineer for George Clinton's vocals on a song for Lee "Scratch" Perry. She also worked on George Clinton's album George Clinton and his Gangsters of Love. This album appeared on the Billboard R&B and Independent Charts.
Current Music Projects
Shaunna Hall moved back to the United States in 2005. She still tours the world as a guitarist with George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic. She became an official band member in 2007.
She released her solo project, Electrofunkadelica, in 2006. She wrote and recorded most of it on her laptop while touring. The project includes music and three videos. It has social, political, emotional, and fun messages. Live shows for Electrofunkadelica feature Shaunna on guitar and other electronic instruments. They also use cool visuals and films.
Shaunna is now working on her next Electrofunkadelica collection. It will feature many guest musicians. It will also include the recording debut of her character BB Kink. BB Kink is an Electro-GoGo-Love-Blues guitar player. Shaunna introduced this character in 2008.
Interests and Groups
Shaunna Hall has been a speaker at the ROCKRGRL Music Conference. She has also volunteered as a performer for Bread and Roses since 1997. She is a member of ASCAP.
