Shawndell Winters' Boxing Journey
Shawndell Winters began his professional boxing journey in 2015. He quickly showed his power, often winning fights by knockout.
Early Professional Fights
In July 2016, Winters had a notable fight against Maxwell Amponsah, an Olympian from Ghana. Winters won this fight by knockout in the fifth round. He landed a strong right-hand punch, then followed up with many more punches until his opponent fell. The fight was stopped right away for medical help.
The next year, Winters faced his first defeat against Brian Howard. This was an unexpected loss for Winters. However, he quickly bounced back. He won his next three fights by knockout against Raymond Gray, Joe Jones, and Ryan Soft. After these wins, he traveled to Poland and lost a close fight to Nikodem Jeżewski by a judge's decision.
Winning a Major Title
In September 2019, Winters had a big fight in Canada against Oleksandr Teslenko, who had never lost a fight before. Winters surprised everyone by winning with a technical knockout (TKO) in the fifth round. He landed a powerful punch and kept hitting until the referee stopped the fight. With this victory, Shawndell Winters became the new North American Boxing Association champion.
Later that year, in November, Winters fought Sergiej Werwejko in Poland. Winters put on a strong show, knocking Werwejko down and showing he was the better boxer in the seventh round. In February 2020, it was announced that Winters would fight former heavyweight world champion Joseph Parker in Texas. This was a major opportunity for Winters to fight a well-known boxer.
