Shepley once had its very own post office. A post office is a place where people can send and receive mail. This post office opened its doors in 1907. It helped the people living in Shepley with their mail for many years. However, the post office eventually closed down in 1935.
The community of Shepley got its name from a person. It was named after Colonel J. S. Shepley. He was a local landowner in the area.
