Shestak is a small, unincorporated community located in Saline County, Nebraska, United States. An unincorporated community is a place where people live together, but it doesn't have its own official town government like a city or village.
Where is Shestak?
Shestak is found about 3 miles (4.8 kilometers) south of a town called Crete. It sits right along Nebraska Highway 103. The Big Blue River also flows nearby, about half a mile (0.8 kilometers) to the east of the community.
A Look at Shestak's History
Shestak has a short but interesting history. It once had its own post office, but only for a very brief time, from 1893 to 1894. The community was named after a person named Václav Šesták. He was one of the first people to settle in the area and originally came from a region called Bohemia.
