Shigeki Tsujimoto (辻本 茂輝, Tsujimoto Shigeki, born 23 June 1979) is a former Japanese football player. He was a talented defender who played for several clubs in Japan. He also represented Japan in youth international tournaments.

Shigeki Tsujimoto's Club Career

Shigeki Tsujimoto was born in Suita, Osaka on June 23, 1979. After finishing high school, he started his professional football journey.

Early Career and Yokohama Flügels

Tsujimoto joined Yokohama Flügels in 1998. This was his first professional club. However, the club faced financial problems and was unfortunately disbanded at the end of 1998.

Time with Kyoto Purple Sanga

After Yokohama Flügels closed, Tsujimoto moved to Kyoto Purple Sanga in 1999. He played for this club for many years, staying until 2005. During his time there, he became an important part of the team's defense.

Later Clubs and Retirement

After leaving Kyoto Purple Sanga, Tsujimoto continued his career with other teams. He played for Tokushima Vortis in 2006. From 2007 to 2008, he was with Sagawa Printing. His final club was FC Osaka in 2009. Shigeki Tsujimoto retired from playing professional football at the end of the 2009 season.

Playing for Japan U-17

In August 1995, Tsujimoto was chosen to play for the Japan U-17 national team. He participated in the 1995 U-17 World Championship and played one match in the tournament.

In April 1999, he was selected for the Japan U-20 national team. He played in the 1999 World Youth Championship. In this important tournament, he played as a right back. He played in all seven matches, helping Japan achieve an impressive second-place finish.
