Shigemitsu Sudo (born April 2, 1956) is a famous Japanese football player and manager. He used to play as a defender for the Japanese national team. Today, he is the manager of Mynavi Sendai Ladies, a team in the WE League, which is Japan's top women's football league.

Playing for Clubs
Shigemitsu Sudo was born in Mikasa, Japan, on April 2, 1956. After finishing his studies at Chuo University, he joined a football club called Hitachi in 1979.
Club Achievements
During his time with Hitachi, the team did very well. They finished second in the 1980 JSL Cup and also took second place in the 1982 Japan Soccer League. The Japan Soccer League was the top football league in Japan at that time. Sudo played 117 games in the league for Hitachi before he retired as a player in 1987.
Playing for Japan
Shigemitsu Sudo also had the honor of playing for his country. He joined the Japan national team as a defender.
Representing His Country
His first game for Japan was on August 23, 1979, against North Korea. In 1980, he played in important matches for the 1980 Summer Olympics qualification. He also played in the 1982 World Cup qualification games. He played a total of 13 games for the Japanese national team until 1981.
Becoming a Coach
After he stopped playing football professionally, Sudo decided to become a coach. He mostly coached his old university team, Chuo University, and also worked with some youth teams.
Coaching Different Teams
In 2018, he became the manager for Verspah Oita, a club in the Japan Football League. Then, in the middle of 2023, he took on a new role. He became the manager of Mynavi Sendai Ladies, a women's football club. He continues to lead this team today.
