Shigenori Hagimura (萩村 滋則, Hagimura Shigenori, born July 31, 1976) is a former professional Japanese football player. He played as a defender during his career.

His Football Journey

Shigenori Hagimura was born in Mie Prefecture, Japan, on July 31, 1976. He started his journey in football at a young age. After attending University of Tsukuba, he began his professional career.

Playing for Clubs

In 1997, Shigenori Hagimura joined Kashiwa Reysol, a well-known football club. He quickly became an important player for the team, often playing as a centre-back. A big moment for him and the club was when they won the 1999 J.League Cup. This was his first major championship win.

In 2000, he showed his versatility by playing not only as a centre-back but also as a defensive midfielder. However, his playing time started to decrease after 2001.

He then moved to other clubs to continue his career. In 2004, he played for Kyoto Purple Sanga. The next year, in 2005, he joined Albirex Niigata, where he was a regular player on the team.

His last club was Tokyo Verdy, which he joined in 2006. He played for them until 2008. At the end of the 2008 season, Shigenori Hagimura decided to retire from professional football.

Representing His Country

Shigenori Hagimura also had the chance to play for his country. In April 1995, while he was still a student, he was chosen to be part of the Japan U-20 national team.

He played one match for the national team in the 1995 FIFA World Youth Championship. This was a big international tournament for young players. He played against the Chile U-20 team during this championship.
