Shigeo Onoue was born in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan, on July 15, 1976. He loved football from a young age. After finishing his studies at University of Tsukuba, he decided to become a professional football player.
Starting Professional Football
In 1999, Shigeo Onoue joined a club called Mito HollyHock. At that time, the club was part of the Japan Football League. This league was a step below the main professional leagues in Japan.
He quickly became an important player for Mito HollyHock. As a forward, his job was to score goals. He played in many matches and managed to score 10 goals for his team.
Moving Up to J2 League
Thanks to the hard work of players like Shigeo Onoue, Mito HollyHock did very well. In 2000, the club was promoted to the J2 League. This was a bigger and more competitive league.
Shigeo continued to play many games in the J2 League during 2000. However, it was a tougher challenge. He didn't score any goals in this new league. At the end of the 2000 season, he decided to retire from playing professional football.
