Shigetoshi Hasebe (長谷部 茂利, Hasebe Shigetoshi, born April 23, 1971) is a famous Japanese football player and manager. He was born on April 23, 1971. He is currently the manager for the J1 League club Kawasaki Frontale.

Shigetoshi Hasebe's Football Journey
Shigetoshi Hasebe was born in Yokohama, Japan. He started his professional football career in 1994. This was after he finished studying at Chuo University.
Playing for Verdy Kawasaki
Hasebe joined Verdy Kawasaki in 1994. He played as a central midfielder. This means he helped both defend and attack in the middle of the field. His team won the J1 League championship in 1994.
Moving to Other Clubs
After 1996, he played less often for Verdy Kawasaki. In August 1997, he moved to Kawasaki Frontale. This team was in the Japan Football League at the time. He played many games for Frontale that year. In 1998, he joined Vissel Kobe. He wore the number 10 jersey and was a key player for them.
Later Years as a Player
In 2001, Hasebe moved to JEF United Ichihara. He continued to play many matches there. However, in 2003, it became harder for him to get a spot on the main team. He left the club in July of that year. He played a total of 198 games and scored 12 goals in his career.

Early Coaching Roles
In 2006, he became a coach for the youth team at Vissel Kobe. Later, in 2011, he became a coach for the club's main team. In 2016, he moved to J2 League team JEF United Chiba. He worked there as a coach.
Becoming a Manager
In July 2016, the main manager of JEF United Chiba was replaced. Hasebe took over as the temporary manager. He returned to being an assistant coach later that year. On December 11, 2017, he was named the manager of Mito HollyHock. He managed this J2 League team starting in 2018.
Managing Avispa Fukuoka and Kawasaki Frontale
Hasebe managed Avispa Fukuoka from 2020 to 2024. On October 31, 2024, he announced he would leave Avispa Fukuoka. Then, on December 12, 2024, it was announced that he would become the head coach for Kawasaki Frontale. He will start this new role for the 2025 Season.
