Shigeyoshi Mochizuki (born July 9, 1973) is a former Japanese football player and manager. He played as a Midfielder for many clubs in Japan. He also played for the Japan national team.

Playing for Clubs
Shigeyoshi Mochizuki was born in Shizuoka, Japan. He started his professional career in 1996. He joined Nagoya Grampus Eight after finishing university.
Time at Nagoya Grampus Eight
Mochizuki played for Nagoya Grampus Eight from 1996 to 2000. During his time there, the club was very successful. They finished second in the 1996–97 Asian Cup Winners' Cup. They also won the Emperor's Cup in 1999.
Moving to Other Clubs
In 2000, Mochizuki moved to Kyoto Purple Sanga. However, the team was moved down to a lower league (the J2 League). In 2001, he joined Vissel Kobe. Later, in 2003, he played for JEF United Ichihara. He also had a short loan spell at Vegalta Sendai that same year.
Retirement from Football
In 2004, Mochizuki was diagnosed with a serious hip bone condition. Even with this, he continued to play for Yokohama FC in the J2 League from 2005 to 2006. He only played two games for them. He officially retired from playing football in August 2006.
Playing for Japan
Shigeyoshi Mochizuki played for the Japan national team from 1997 to 2001. He played his first game for Japan on June 15, 1997, against Turkey.
Major Tournaments
He played in the 1999 Copa América tournament. He also played in the 2000 Asian Cup. This was a very important tournament for him and Japan.
Asian Cup Victory
At the 2000 Asian Cup, Mochizuki played in four games. He scored the winning goal in the final match against Saudi Arabia. This goal helped Japan win the championship. He played a total of 15 games for the national team.
Life After Playing
After he stopped playing football, Mochizuki started a new career. In February 2008, he founded a football club called SC Sagamihara. He became the chairman of this new club. In 2011, he also worked as the manager for the team for a few months.
