Shigeyoshi Mochizuki (望月 重良, Mochizuki Shigeyoshi, born 9 July 1973) is a former Japanese football player and manager. He played as a midfielder for many clubs and also for the Japan national team.

Playing Career Highlights
Shigeyoshi Mochizuki was born in Shizuoka, Japan, on July 9, 1973. He became a professional football player after finishing his studies at the University of Tsukuba.
Club Football Journey
Mochizuki started his professional career in 1996 with Nagoya Grampus Eight. He played there for several years. During his time with Nagoya Grampus Eight, the team was a runner-up in the 1996–97 Asian Cup Winners' Cup. This was a big achievement for the club.
In 2000, he moved to Kyoto Purple Sanga. After that, he played for Vissel Kobe from 2001 to 2002. He then joined JEF United Ichihara in 2003. Later that year, he also played for Vegalta Sendai on loan.
Facing a Health Challenge
In 2004, Shigeyoshi Mochizuki faced a serious health issue. He was diagnosed with a special bone condition in his hip. This condition made it very difficult for him to continue playing football at a high level. Even though he tried to keep playing for Yokohama FC in 2005 and 2006, he could only make two appearances. He decided to retire from playing football in August 2006 because of his health.
Representing Japan
Shigeyoshi Mochizuki also played for the Japan national team. His first game for Japan was on June 15, 1997, against Turkey.
He played in important tournaments like the 1999 Copa América and the 2000 Asian Cup. At the 2000 Asian Cup, he played in four games. He scored the winning goal in the final match against Saudi Arabia, helping Japan win the championship! He played a total of 15 games for the national team.
After His Playing Days
After retiring as a player, Shigeyoshi Mochizuki stayed involved in football. In February 2008, he founded a new football club called SC Sagamihara. He became the chairman of this club. For a short period in 2011, from June to September, he also worked as the manager for SC Sagamihara.
