About the Book
The Story of Shiloh
The main character of Shiloh is a boy named Marty Preston. He lives in the hills of Friendly, West Virginia. One day, Marty finds a beagle dog that belongs to his neighbor, Judd Travers. Judd is not kind to his animals.
Marty feels he must help the dog. He decides to secretly take the dog and hide him. Marty names the dog Shiloh. He tells many lies to keep his secret safe.
Later, Marty's secret is found out. He then discovers Judd doing something wrong. Marty uses this information to make a deal with Judd. He blackmails Judd into selling Shiloh to him. Marty does not have enough money to buy the dog. So, he works for Judd doing many chores to earn Shiloh.
