Breakthrough at Melodifestivalen

Shirley's big moment came in Melodifestivalen 2004. Her song was "Min kärlek" (My Love). It was written by Ingela "Pling" Forsman. Shirley finished fourth in her semifinal. She then got a "second chance" in a special round called Andra Chansen. She won second place there, which allowed her to go to the final. In the final, she performed first and ended up in second place. The winner that year was Lena Philipsson with her song "Det gör ont." "Min kärlek" also won the National Finals Song Contest.

In 2011, Shirley competed again with a group called "Shirley's Angels." The group included Vera Prada and Jessica Marberger. Their song was "I Thought It Was Forever." They made it to the "second chance" round but were eliminated.

Shirley tried her luck again at Melodifestivalen 2014 with "Burning Alive." She finished sixth in her semifinal and did not qualify for the final. This was her fourth time not reaching the final.
