Shivangi Joshi (born May 18, 1998) is an Indian actress who is famous for her roles in Hindi television shows. She started her acting journey with a small part in the show Parvarrish – Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi. Her first major role was in 2013 as Trisha in Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi.
Shivangi is best known for playing Naira Singhania in the popular TV series Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. She is one of the highest-paid television actresses in India. For her amazing acting, she has won many awards, including an ITA Award and three Gold Awards.

Early Life and Education
Shivangi Joshi was born in Pune, a city in the state of Maharashtra, India. She grew up in a Hindu family and went to school in Dehradun. After finishing school, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. Besides acting, Shivangi is also a talented dancer and has been professionally trained in Kathak, a classical Indian dance form.
Her Acting Journey
First Steps in Television (2013–2015)
Shivangi's first appearance on TV was a small role in Parvarrish – Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi. Soon after, in 2013, she landed her first lead role in the Zee TV show Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi. Following this, she played Aayat Haider in Beintehaa and made a brief appearance in Love by Chance.
In 2015, she played Poonam Thakur in the show Begusarai. This role was a big step in her career and helped her become more well-known. A reviewer from the Times of India said her acting was "easy and fresh and natural." Her performance earned her a nomination for the Fresh New Face award.
Becoming a Star (2016–2021)
In 2016, Shivangi appeared in episodes of Yeh Hai Aashiqui and Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya. Later that year, she got the role that would make her a household name: Naira Singhania Goenka in StarPlus's long-running show, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Her portrayal of Naira was loved by audiences and won her many awards, including the ITA Award for Best Actress Popular.
In January 2021, the character of Naira was written out of the show. However, Shivangi continued to be a part of it by playing a new, look-alike character named Sirat Shekhawat Goenka.
In 2020, she also acted in a short film called Love X Society. From 2021 to 2022, she played the main character, Anandi Bhujaariya, in the show Balika Vadhu 2.
Recent Work (2022–Present)
In 2022, Shivangi took on a new challenge by participating in the reality TV show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 12. The show, which involves doing difficult stunts, was filmed in Cape Town, South Africa. She finished in 12th place.
In 2023, she appeared in the web series Jab We Matched and had a special role in the TV show Bekaboo. From July 2023 to February 2024, she starred as Aradhana Sahni in Barsatein – Mausam Pyaar Ka. Critics praised her performance and her on-screen chemistry with her co-star. A writer for India Today said, "Joshi delivers a compelling performance, showcasing her versatility as an actress."
In November 2024, she played Dr. Sanjh Arora in a medical drama called Heart Beats. A reviewer for ABP News praised her performance and called the show "a fresh and captivating take on medical student life." Since early 2025, she has been starring as Bhagyashree in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 4 on Sony Entertainment Television.
Personal Life
Shivangi Joshi met actor Kushal Tandon on the set of their show Barsatein – Mausam Pyaar Ka in 2023, and they began dating. In 2025, Kushal confirmed that they were no longer together.
