Shohei Yamamoto's Football Journey
Shohei Yamamoto was born in Nagaokakyo, Japan, on August 29, 1982. He loved football from a young age. He joined the youth team of Kyoto Purple Sanga in 1995. This was the start of his long and exciting football career.
Early Career and First Steps
In 2001, Shohei joined the main team of Kyoto Purple Sanga, which played in the J2 League. He was a young player and did not get to play in any matches that year.
The next year, in 2002, he moved to another J2 League club called Mito HollyHock. Here, he started to play more often. He played in many games during the 2002 season. However, in 2003, he did not get as many chances to play.
Becoming a Regular Player
In 2004, Shohei moved to ALO's Hokuriku. This team was in the Japan Football League (JFL), which is a league below the J2. At ALO's Hokuriku, he became a very important player. He played regularly for three seasons, showing his skills on the field.
In 2007, he joined another JFL club, Rosso Kumamoto (which later became Roasso Kumamoto). Even though he did not play much at first, his team had a great season. They were promoted to the J2 League at the end of 2007!
Life in the J2 League
After Roasso Kumamoto moved up to the J2 League, Shohei became a regular player again in 2008. He played in many matches for two seasons with the club.
In 2010, he moved to V-Varen Nagasaki, another team in the JFL. He played a lot in 2010. But as time went on, his playing time started to decrease from 2012.
Another Promotion and Retirement
In 2013, Shohei joined Kamatamare Sanuki, a JFL club. He quickly became a key player for them. Just like with Roasso Kumamoto, his new team also earned a promotion! Kamatamare Sanuki moved up to the J2 League at the end of 2013.
Shohei continued to play many matches for Kamatamare Sanuki until 2016. In 2017, his playing opportunities became fewer. In 2018, he moved to Ococias Kyoto AC, a club in the Japanese Regional Leagues. He played a few matches there before deciding to retire from professional football at the end of the 2018 season.
Shohei Yamamoto played a total of 383 matches in his career, scoring 9 goals. He was a dedicated midfielder who helped his teams achieve promotions to higher leagues.
