About Shrinkhala Khatiwada
Shrinkhala Khatiwada was born on November 3, 1995, in Hetauda, Bagmati Province, Nepal. Her nickname is Phunu. She has an older brother named Bimba, who lives in Australia.
Her Family's Background
Shrinkhala's father, Birodh Khatiwada, is a leader in a political party called CPN (UML). He has been elected to the national parliament from Makwanpur District several times. Her mother, Munu Sigdel Khatiwada, is also a member of the same political party. She is the President of the party in Makwanpur District and serves in the state parliament of Bagmati Province.
Her Work Outside Pageants
Shrinkhala is involved in important work beyond beauty pageants. She is a National Chancellor for the International Association of Educators for World Peace (IAEWP). She also leads an organization called the One Home Foundation as its President.
Shrinkhala's Education Journey
Shrinkhala started her schooling at Hetauda Academy. She then went to Goldengate International College for her high school studies.

Becoming Miss Nepal 2018
Shrinkhala Khatiwada won the title of Miss Nepal World 2018. She was the 23rd person to hold this title. The competition took place on April 11, 2018, in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal.
Special Awards Won
During the Miss Nepal competition, Shrinkhala also won two other special awards. She was named 'Miss Fascino' and 'Miss Beautiful Hair'. She competed against 24 other contestants to win these honors.
Her Journey at Miss World 2018
After winning Miss Nepal, Shrinkhala went on to compete in Miss World 2018. This big international competition had 118 contestants from all over the world. Shrinkhala did very well and made it into the Top 12 finalists.
World Designer Competition
During the World Designer competition, Shrinkhala faced a small challenge. The long train of her gown got caught while she was walking. However, she handled it gracefully.
Head to Head Challenge
In the Head to Head Challenge, contestants answer questions. Shrinkhala was in a group with contestants from Luxembourg, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Guam, and Moldova. She won the first round for her group. However, she later lost to the contestant from Singapore in the second round.
Multimedia Award Winner
On December 3, 2018, Shrinkhala won the Miss Multimedia Award. This award is given to the contestant who gets the most votes online. Winning this award automatically placed her in the Top 30 of Miss World 2018. On the same evening, she also placed second in a video award for promoting tourism in Sanya, China.
Winning Beauty With A Purpose
Shrinkhala's project was chosen as the winner of the Beauty With A Purpose Award. This award is very important at Miss World. It celebrates contestants who work on projects that help their communities. Shrinkhala was very happy about this award. She said that this title meant more to her than the crown itself.
The Grand Finale
The Miss World 2018 Final event was held on December 8, 2018, in Sanya, China. Shrinkhala was among the Top 12 finalists. Other finalists from her region included Miss Thailand 2018 and Miss New Zealand 2018.
