Shu Abe (阿部 嵩, Abe Shū, born June 7, 1984) is a former Japanese football player. He was known for playing in the middle of the field as a defensive midfielder. This means his main job was to protect his team's goal and help start attacks.

Shu Abe's Football Journey
Shu Abe started his football career playing for Ryutsu Keizai University from 2003 to 2006. After his time in university football, he became a professional player.
Playing for Top Clubs
In 2007, Shu Abe joined Kashiwa Reysol, a team in Japan's top football league, the J1 League. He played for Kashiwa Reysol until 2009. During his time there, he helped the team reach the final of the Emperor's Cup in 2008, which is a big knockout competition in Japan.
After Kashiwa Reysol, he moved to Avispa Fukuoka in 2009. This team played in the J2 League, which is the second division. He stayed with Avispa Fukuoka until 2010, playing in 20 matches.
Later Career and Retirement
Shu Abe then joined Zweigen Kanazawa in 2011, where he played for two seasons. He scored his first professional goal with this team. His last club was FC Machida Zelvia, which he joined in 2013. He played 17 games for them and scored 3 goals before ending his professional career.
Throughout his career, Shu Abe played a total of 67 professional games and scored 4 goals. He was a dedicated player who helped his teams from the midfield.
