Early Career and Loan Moves
Shun Nagasawa began his professional career with Shimizu S-Pulse. He played for their youth team before joining the main squad. To gain more experience, he went on loan to other clubs.
In 2011, he played for Roasso Kumamoto on a loan deal. A loan means a player temporarily plays for another team. The next year, in 2012, he joined Kyoto Sanga FC on loan. He returned to Kyoto Sanga many years later.
In 2013, Nagasawa was loaned to Matsumoto Yamaga FC. These loan spells helped him develop his skills.
Time at Shimizu S-Pulse and Gamba Osaka
During the 2015 season with Shimizu S-Pulse, Nagasawa was chosen as the team's vice-captain. This showed his leadership on the field.
On July 8, 2015, he made a permanent move to Gamba Osaka. A permanent transfer means he joined the team for good. While at Gamba Osaka, he had some amazing moments. On April 4, 2018, he scored four goals in a single match against Nagoya Grampus in the J.League Cup. He also played in the AFC Champions League Elite, which is a big competition for top Asian clubs.

Playing for Oita Trinita and Return to Kyoto Sanga
On January 7, 2021, Nagasawa joined Oita Trinita on a permanent transfer. He had a strong 2022 season, scoring 11 goals in 26 league matches. This was impressive, especially since he was out for some time due to an injury. Because of his great performance, the club extended his contract for the 2023 season.
His contract with Oita Trinita was set to end in November 2023, but he signed a new deal in January 2024. However, in November 2024, the club announced his contract would end after the 2024 season.
On December 30, 2024, Shun Nagasawa made an exciting return to Kyoto Sanga FC on a permanent transfer. This was 12 years after he first played for them on loan!
