Shusuke Tsubouchi (坪内 秀介, Tsubouchi Shusuke, born May 5, 1983) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender for several teams in Japan's top football leagues.

Shusuke Tsubouchi's Football Journey

Shusuke Tsubouchi was born in Takasaki, Japan, on May 5, 1983. He started his professional football career after finishing high school.

Early Career with Vissel Kobe

In 2002, Shusuke joined Vissel Kobe, a club in the top Japanese league, J1 League. From 2003, he played many games as a left-side defender. However, in 2005, he played fewer matches. That year, Vissel Kobe was moved down to the J2 League.

In 2006, Shusuke became a regular player for Vissel Kobe again. His team managed to return to the J1 League in just one year. But in 2007, he didn't get to play as much.

Moving to New Teams

In 2008, Shusuke moved to Consadole Sapporo, a team that had just been promoted to the J1 League. He was a regular left-side defender there. However, Consadole Sapporo finished last and was moved down to J2.

The next year, 2009, he joined Oita Trinita. He played many matches as a substitute defender. Unfortunately, Oita Trinita also moved down to J2 that season.

Playing for Omiya Ardija and Albirex Niigata

In 2010, Shusuke moved to Omiya Ardija. He played many games as both a side defender and a central defender. His playing time decreased in 2012.

In August 2012, he joined Albirex Niigata. He didn't play many matches for this team.

Later Career and Retirement

In August 2014, Shusuke moved to Júbilo Iwata, a J2 League club. Again, he didn't play many games there.

In 2016, he joined his local team, Thespakusatsu Gunma, which was also in the J2 League. He played many matches in 2016. However, in 2017, he played less, and Thespakusatsu Gunma was moved down to the J3 League. Shusuke Tsubouchi retired from football at the end of the 2018 season.
