Siam is a small place in Ohio, United States. It's known as an unincorporated community. This means it's not an official city or town, but rather a group of homes and businesses managed by the county. Siam is located in Reed Township, within Seneca County.
You can find Siam along State Route 4, just north of a town called Attica. It's also known as Attica Junction because two major train lines, CSX and NS, have their tracks cross here. The local post office that serves Siam uses the ZIP code 44807, which is for Attica.
A Look at Siam's History
How Siam Got Its Name
Siam has an interesting past with a few different names! When it first started in 1875, it was called Detroit. This was when the railroad tracks were built through the area.
Soon after, a train station was built. This station was named Attica Station. However, when a post office opened in the community, it was given the name Siam. The Siam post office began operating in 1878. It continued to serve the community for many years before it was finally closed down in 1938.
