Silvia Abascal Estrada was born in Madrid, Spain, on March 20, 1979. She started her television career at just 14 years old. Her first appearance was on the game show Un, dos, tres... responda otra vez.
Becoming a Star
Silvia's career really took off in 1995. She played Clarita in the TV show Pepa y Pepe. Clarita was a sarcastic but sensible teenager who loved grunge music. This role helped Silvia become a recognized actress. She also trained her acting skills with Juan Carlos Corazza.
Her first movie role was in Time of Happiness in 1997. Later, she was nominated for a Goya Award for Best New Actress for her role as Lola in the movie The Yellow Fountain. Lola was a character who was half-Spanish and half-Chinese.
Helping Others
In 2003, Silvia Abascal became a goodwill ambassador for Unicef. This means she helps promote Unicef's work to support children around the world.
Facing Challenges and Comebacks
In April 2011, Silvia faced a health challenge when she had a stroke. This meant she had to take a break from acting for a while. However, she made a strong comeback just ten months later.
