Simon Douglas-Pennant, also known as the 7th Baron Penrhyn, was born on June 28, 1938. He is a British nobleman. A nobleman is a person who holds a special title passed down through their family. Simon became the Baron Penrhyn in 2003. He took on the title after his uncle, the 6th Baron, passed away without any sons.

Simon Douglas-Pennant went to a famous school called Eton College. After that, he studied at Clare College, Cambridge. This college is part of the well-known University of Cambridge.
Cricket Career
While at Cambridge, Simon played cricket for the university team. He played from 1959 to 1961. He was a left-arm opening bowler. This means he bowled with his left arm and usually started the game for his team.
In a game against the Free Foresters Cricket Club in 1959, he had his best performance. He took 7 wickets for 56 runs in one part of the game. Overall in that match, he took 10 wickets for 171 runs. This was a great achievement in first-class cricket.

On October 5, 1963, Simon Douglas-Pennant married Josephine Upcott. She is the daughter of Robert Upcott. Simon and Josephine have four children together:
