Simon Christopher Joseph Fraser, known as the 16th Lord Lovat, is an important leader of a Scottish family group called a clan. He has been the chief of Clan Fraser of Lovat since 1995. This means he is the head of a very old and respected family in Scotland.
Growing Up
Simon Fraser was born on February 13, 1977. His parents are Simon Fraser (who was known as the Master of Lovat) and Virginia Grose. He is also the grandson of the 15th Lord Lovat.
Simon has two older sisters, Violet and Honor, and a younger brother named John. His sister, Honor Fraser, used to be a fashion model.
He went to a school called Harrow School. After that, he studied at the University of Edinburgh.
Becoming Lord Lovat
Simon became Lord Lovat when he was still quite young, in 1995. This happened after his grandfather passed away. His father had passed away the year before.
Because of some financial difficulties, his family had to sell their historic home, Beaufort Castle.
In 1999, a new law changed how the House of Lords worked. This meant that most people who inherited their titles, like Lord Lovat, no longer had a seat there.
Life and Work
After finishing his education, Lord Lovat started working in finance. He became a stockbroker, which means he helped people buy and sell stocks. He worked in Geneva for a while.
Later, he moved to London. Today, he works as an analyst, studying different types of goods that are bought and sold, like oil or metals.
Family Life
In May 2016, Lord Lovat married Petra Palumbo. Their wedding took place in London at St Stephen Walbrook. Petra is the daughter of Peter Palumbo, who is also a Baron.
Simon and Petra have two daughters together.
