Simon Jeffes (born February 19, 1949 – died December 11, 1997) was an English musician. He was a talented guitarist, composer, and arranger. Simon is best known for starting and leading the unique band called the Penguin Cafe Orchestra.
He wrote the music for a ballet titled Still Life at the Penguin Cafe. He also composed the popular song Music For A Found Harmonium. Many other pieces of music recorded by the Penguin Cafe Orchestra were also his creations. Simon even helped with the string music for Sid Vicious's version of the song "My Way." This song became very famous, reaching number 7 on the UK music charts.
After he passed away, an album of his piano music, called "Piano Music," was released in 1998.
