The Singapore Chinese Orchestra (often called SCO) is Singapore's only professional Chinese orchestra. Think of it as a special group of musicians who play traditional Chinese instruments.

Discovering the Singapore Chinese Orchestra
The SCO is one of Singapore's most important performing arts groups. It even has the support of Singapore's Prime Minister, Lee Hsien Loong. This means the Prime Minister is a special supporter of their work.
The orchestra has been around since 1996. They have about 70 talented musicians. Their main goal is to share the beauty of Chinese orchestral music with more and more people.
Their Special Home
Since 2001, the Singapore Chinese Orchestra has had a special home. They perform at the Singapore Conference Hall. This building was updated to be a perfect place for their music. It's where they practice and hold many of their concerts.
The Music Director
The orchestra is led by a person called a music director. This person guides the musicians and helps them play together perfectly. The current music director for the SCO is Sheng Hui. Under his leadership, the orchestra works hard to create amazing music.
