Sinéad Crowley (born in 1974) is an Irish journalist and writer. She used to work for RTÉ, which is Ireland's main TV and radio station. For many years, she reported on arts and media news for RTÉ News. She has also written four books, and three of them were nominated for important awards.
Her Career Journey
Sinéad started her career writing about films and news for local newspapers. She also worked for radio stations like Raidió Na Life and Radio Kerry.
In 1997, she joined Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ). She first reported for Irish language shows. Then, in 1999, she became a journalist in the RTÉ Newsroom. From 2006 to 2023, Sinéad was the Arts and Media Correspondent for RTÉ. This meant she reported on art, music, movies, and media news for TV, radio, and online.
Since 2019, she has also been teaching journalism at Dublin City University. When the COVID-19 pandemic started, Sinéad helped report on it. She worked on the One O'Clock News, Six One News, and Nine O'Clock News.
In July 2023, Sinéad announced she was leaving RTÉ. She had worked there for 26 years.

Sinéad Crowley grew up in Walkinstown in Dublin. She is a fluent Irish speaker.
She studied at Dublin City University and University College Dublin. She earned degrees in communication and media studies. She also has a master's degree in women's studies. Sinéad is married to Andrew Phelan. He works for the Irish Independent newspaper. They have two sons.
Her Books and Awards
Sinéad Crowley is also a successful writer. She has published three crime novels in a series about a detective named DS Claire Boyle. These books are Can Anybody Help Me? (2014), Are You Watching Me? (2015), and One Bad Turn (2017). All three of these books were nominated for the Irish Book Awards. This is a big award for books in Ireland.
In 2022, she published her fourth novel, called The Belladonna Maze.
