Sir Charles Pym, 1st Baronet (born around 1615 – died in 1671) was an English politician. He was a member of the House of Commons for several years. He also fought in the Parliamentary army during the English Civil War.

Early Life and Family
Sir Charles Pym was the son of a very famous politician named John Pym. His mother was Anna Hooker (or Hooke). Charles Pym was born around the year 1615.
A Member of Parliament
In 1641, Charles Pym became a Member of Parliament (MP) for a place called Bere Alston. This happened during a time known as the Long Parliament. He took the seat after the previous MP was removed.
Role in the English Civil War
During the English Civil War, Charles Pym joined the army that supported Parliament. This army was known as the Roundheads. However, in 1648, he was removed from Parliament. This event was called Pride's Purge.
After the War
Later, in April 1660, Pym was elected as an MP again. He was chosen to represent two different areas: Minehead and Bossiney. He decided to serve as the MP for Minehead.
The Pym Baronetcy
Charles Pym was given a special title called a baronet by Richard Cromwell. This title was confirmed by King Charles II on July 14, 1663. This made him the 1st Baronet of the Pym Baronetcy.
Sir Charles Pym had only one son, also named Charles. Sadly, his son died in 1688 without any male children. Because of this, the baronetcy title ended.
