Sir George Warburton, 3rd Baronet (1675–1743) was an important English politician. He was a member of the House of Commons, which is a part of the British Parliament. Sir George Warburton was born in 1675. He was the oldest son of Sir Peter Warburton, who was the 2nd Baronet. His mother was Martha Docwra. George was baptized on June 1, 1675.

When his father passed away around 1698, George became the 3rd Baronet. This meant he inherited the title and responsibilities that came with it.

His Family Life

On June 18, 1700, Sir George Warburton married Diana Alington. She was the daughter of William Alington, who was the 1st Baron Alington. They had one son and two daughters. Sadly, their son passed away when he was young. Because of this, the Baronet title later went to a nephew. One of his daughters, also named Diana, married Sir Richard Grosvenor, 4th Baronet.

Sir George's Political Career

Sir George Warburton was very active in politics. He represented the area of Cheshire in the House of Commons.

First Time in Parliament

He was first chosen to be a Member of Parliament (MP) for Cheshire in the election of 1702. This was a big achievement. However, he lost his seat in the next election in 1705.

Returning to Parliament

Sir George did not give up. He was elected again as an MP for Cheshire in 1710. He was re-elected in 1713 and again in 1715. He continued to serve in Parliament until the election of 1722.

Later Life and Honors

After his time in Parliament, Sir George continued to be involved in public life. In 1724, he was given the title of Freeman of Chester. This was an honor given to important citizens of the city of Chester.
