Sir Henry Peachey (born around 1671, died 1737) was an important landowner and politician in Britain. He lived at New Grove in Petworth, Sussex. He served as a Member of Parliament (MP) in the House of Commons for several years between 1701 and 1737.

Early Life
Growing Up and Education
Henry Peachey was the oldest son of William Peachey, a merchant from London. William Peachey bought the New Grove estate in Petworth through his marriage. When his father passed away in 1685, Henry took over the New Grove property.
Henry went to Eton College in 1685. Later, when he was 18, he started studying at Trinity College, Oxford on November 22, 1689. He married Jane Garrett on May 16, 1693. She was the daughter of William Garrett from London. Henry was given the title of Knight on March 22, 1696.
Political Career
Becoming a Member of Parliament
Sir Henry Peachey first tried to become a Member of Parliament (MP) for Midhurst in 1698, but he didn't win. In 1701, he was elected as an MP for Sussex. He was part of the Whig political group. The Whigs were one of the main political parties at the time.
He helped count votes in Parliament on February 27, 1702. He didn't run in the 1702 election and lost in Sussex in the 1705 election. However, he was elected again for Sussex in the 1708 election.
Key Votes and Activities
In 1709, Sir Henry voted to allow people from Palatine (a region in Germany) to become British citizens. He also helped count votes for a Whig candidate on March 8. On February 9, 1710, he was the first person named to a group that would create a bill to improve the road to Chichester.
In 1710, he voted to remove Dr. Sacheverell from his position. After this, Sir Henry lost the 1710 election and did not run for Parliament again for over 20 years.
Later Political Efforts
In 1728, Sir Henry asked the Duke of Newcastle for support to run for Sussex again, but he wasn't chosen. He tried to become an MP for Haslemere in the 1734 election, but he decided not to run before the voting happened.
On March 21, 1736, he was given the special title of Baronet. This title could also be passed down to his brothers, John and James. Soon after, on February 2, 1736, he was elected as an MP for Midhurst. He took over from his brother, Bulstrode Peachey Knight.
Death and Legacy
Sir Henry Peachey passed away on August 23, 1737, when he was 66 years old. Both of his sons had died before him. He left behind two daughters. His brother John became the next Baronet, as planned.
